Bye old phone
My old phone is retiring to my father’s tender care.
My new phone is an updated version of the old T610 - the new K750i with unsucky camera.

Split($site)
I’m going to split the blog into two sections - one with the boring general stuff (pictures of random lions, weather reports from Oslo, etc) and one more focused on usability, programming and software design. Partly this is to force myself to write seriously instead of just filling the blog with useless fluff, and partly it’s because I’m impressed by sites like Coding Horror.
This entails me actually figuring out how WordPress theming works. Luckily the wiki has turned up just what I need — I think. Expect random breakages as I muck around below-decks.

Dating a Developer
This hits a little too close to home. Beate could probably do a good writeup based on my brother.
Just to give you a general idea of what I’m talking about (and the embarrassment I have to deal with when we go out in public) let me describe a few of them. First, I ran across one that read “Steve Jobs is my homeboy.” Then there was the one that said “I am blogging this.” Next was a WWDC 2004 polo and an Apple Developer Connection shirt. And my personal favorite was the one that said “Code Different.” I couldn’t make this up if I tried.
What about the little girls who dream of Prince Charming and end up with Steve Ballmer? What about the girls who never even dreamed they would know who Steve Ballmer is? I think someone needs to offer them a little advice.

Oslo music fest
Saturday was the annual day of music. Lots of free concerts in every genre you’d case to listen to. This is from the rock stage - the rain was constant. Annoying. Damp.
