First Elixia Work-out
One of the girls at work has decided that I need to work out. More likely, Margrethe was looking for someone to she could watch writhing in agony, and I happened to walk past… Anyway, I’m off to Elixia every monday for an hour of BodyPump now - weightlifting and squats for an hour to a disco beat with an instructor.
The first time I got back after the work-out, I sat and watched 24 and discovered my thighs had shut down during the show. It was like when I’d broken my arm — your mind sends the command, but nothing’s happening with the muscles. The brain’s going “clench, we want to stand up”, and the thigh muscles are “404 - resource not found”. I sat and laughed out loud at the absurdity of it. Trapped on my own couch! I’d have to spend the night there!
After a bit of threatening and pushing and shoving I managed to maneuver into an upright position and wobble pivot into bed. The next day wasn’t too bad. The day after that was horrible. Good thing I didn’t have a morning meeting. I spent fifteen minutes just levering my body out of bed. Knees should bend. Muscles should stretch. Mine didn’t any more. I’m obviously not in any recommended shape or form.
(”I’m in shape! Round’s a shape!”)
