Earn a 2.1 (not quite a first) on my finals, but I’ve already been accepted at Stanford, so whoo-hoo! My lack of a first is entirely down to the existence of Wolfenstein 3D. Wolf3d consumes far too much time that should have been spent working on my thesis project. The project is a recursive-descent compiler for a new parallel programming language my advisor has worked out. The compiler emits MC68000 machine code that you could load into the appropriate run-time and execute directly. The mac and windows versions of object pascal turn out to be slightly different, making the final port from windows to mac a horribly stressful affair.
